Tom Sirois founded Berkshire Hills
Financial in 2005 after 20 years of bank management experience with
local branches of Fleet and Banknorth Massachusetts. He served as a
mortgage loan officer and managed personal and small business loans
as well as customer service. During these years, he built strong connections
in the local financial community and gained an in-depth knowledge of
nationwide financial resources.
His banking experience showed him firsthand how consumers and small
business owners are often “sold” products based not on their
individual needs, but rather to meet institutional goals and individual
profit. He recognized that local families and individuals could benefit
from objective advice and information about money matters.
Tom was raised in a family of 15 with a mother who taught her offspring
the basics of budgeting and handling debt and education planning to
accomplish goals. He studied Economics at Skidmore College in Saratoga
Springs, NY and continued his education in Financial Planning at College
of St. Rose in Albany and Boston University School of Finance.
Tom lives in Great Barrington with his wife Michele and their three
children.
